Terms & Conditions

The agreement between this site and the person reading it. Short, plain, and not written to be impressive.

By reading pdfsigncompare.com you accept the terms below. If any of them do not suit you, the remedy is simple and immediate: stop using the site.

What this site is

PDF Sign Compare is an independent editorial site that compares PDF signing and electronic signature tools. It publishes written comparisons and explanations. It is not a signing service, does not process documents, and has no accounts, uploads, or transactions of any kind.

Not legal advice

This is the term that matters most on a site about signatures. Nothing published here is legal advice, and nothing here creates a solicitor-client, attorney-client, or any other professional relationship. Statements about signature validity, audit trails, or compliance are general descriptions of how software behaves, not opinions about your situation.

Requirements for a legally effective signature vary by country, by industry, and by document type, and they change over time. Some documents are excluded from electronic signing altogether in some jurisdictions. Before relying on an electronic signature for anything consequential, consult someone qualified to advise you where you are.

Accuracy and currency

We take care to describe tools accurately at the time of writing, but signing software changes constantly: interfaces are rebuilt, plans are renamed, free limits are raised and lowered, and features move between tiers. Pricing, limits, and capabilities mentioned here may be out of date by the time you read them, and the vendor's own site is always the authority on its current offering.

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Affiliate links and compensation

Some links to products we write about are affiliate links, and we may be paid a commission if you sign up or subscribe after following one. This costs you nothing extra and is how the site is funded. Affiliate arrangements do not determine what we cover, what we recommend, or how we describe anything; free tools and features built into software you already own are covered on the same terms. Our full position on this is on the About page.

Third-party sites

We link to vendors, documentation, and other publications. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, their pricing, their security, or how they handle your data or your documents. A link is a pointer, not an endorsement of everything at the other end, and their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDF Sign Compare and anyone writing for it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here — including decisions about which signing tool to use, and any consequence of a document signed with one. You use the information at your own discretion and risk.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions of liability; where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted.

Intellectual property

The written content, layout, and design of this site belong to PDF Sign Compare unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to quote a reasonable extract with clear attribution and a link. Republishing pages in full, or reproducing substantial parts of the site elsewhere, requires written permission. Product names, logos, and trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively.

Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to interfere with the site's operation, scrape it in a way that burdens the server, or use it to break the law. That is the whole list.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the site changes. The version published on this page is the one in force, and continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept it.
